Talon is a boxer mix who is very intelligent and has loads of personality. Her favorite things are trying to catch water from the water hose, a Kong full of peanut butter, and playing fetch. She loves snuggles, sunning in the backyard, digging in the sandbox and playing in the water. She is about 1 1/2 years old and is very high energy. She does well in a crate for several hours, but after about 6 hours she is ready to get out to run and play. Talon is house-trained and is great free-roaming the house and doesn’t chew or make a mess. She actually prefers to sleep in bed or on the couch at night. Talon needs a lot of guidance and redirecting on a leash, so leash training will definitely be needed for her and her humans. Talon is very excitable when she meets new people. Her body language says “come and play with me”, but she barks at strangers which can be pretty intimidating. Thankfully, she moves past the barking very quickly once she knows you will be nice to her. Continued training and socializing her with others will help her feel more calm when strangers approach. Talon will need a fenced yard and would do great with a large, playful dog in the home that matches her energy level. Her foster family has cats and while Strudel has no prey drive, she does chase them to play; the cats do not like that at all, so we will have to say no cats for her. She is great with kids but we recommend teens or older because of her playful nature. She really needs an active family or person who wants to take her for walks, hiking, running or just playing fetch in the yard and then lounge on the couch with her. She can be a couch potato but must have a release for her energy. She is a really happy girl who would love to find her special person or family!
