WHY DO WE CHARGE AN ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption fees are donations to help support the care of dogs at Lucky Chance Rescue. Adoption fees help offset some of the costs of veterinary care, daily care, emergency veterinary care, diagnostic tests and medications for dogs while he or she waits for a new home.
All Dogs Receive The Following Age Appropriate Veterinary Care Prior To Adoption
Wellness Exam
Heartworm Test
Distemper & Bordetella
Heartworm Preventative
Fecal Test & Wormer
Flea & Tick Preventative
Dewormer Medication
Rabies
Spay / Neuter
Microchip & Registration
Adoption Fees
Puppy & Adult: $450
Large & Giant Breed: $500
Seniors (7+ years): $400
We have faced a significant increase in costs for veterinary care, medical supplies, vaccinations and preventatives, therefore, we had to offset these expenses by increasing our adoption fee. Please note: Large & Giant Breed will be neutered/spayed between 6-8 months of age, therefore our costs increase based on the weight of the dog at time of surgery.
Additonal Veterinary Care we provide, if necessary:
• Umbilical Hernia Surgery
• Non-Cosmetic Dewclaw Removal
• Ear Cytology & medication for ear infections
• Urinalysis/treatment for UTI
• Heartworm Treatment if we get positive test results
• Dental cleaning/extractions
• Parvo testing/treatment
• Skin Scrape, Medication for Skin irriations such as flea dermatitis, mange, hot spots, etc.
• Grooming
• All emergency veterinary care including diagnostic testing, treatment, medication and hospitalization to treat any illness

• Leash / Collar / Harness
• Toys / Chew Bones

• Crate / Gate / X-Pens
• Paper Towels / Detergent / Cleaning Supplies
• Blankets / Towels
