Marmaduke

Marmaduke is a super chill Saint Bernard, about 5-6 yrs old. Marmaduke is a gentle giant weighing in at 120lbs. He’s a very lazy dog who loves snuggling with his people and would be perfectly happy lounging around, getting belly rubs and being loved!

Marmaduke does require a fenced yard so he has access to the outdoors. He enjoys lounging in the sunshine and needs to be contained in a safe environment. He does ok on a leash, but can be reactive to other dogs when going for walks. Because of his strength and size, he would need a strong person to keep him focused on his walk and ignore those around him. Continued training to sit and wait while others pass would definitely help him! Because of this, we know a fenced yard would be perfect for him so he can just hang out and be his happy self.

As we have gotten to know Duke, we have learned that he is not comfortable around small children. He has been very unpredictable around them. Sometimes he’s absolutely perfect, and sometimes he gets very nervous and will bark, lunge and nip at them. That said, we will not adopt Duke to a home with any little children. This has made it incredibly difficult to find Duke his forever home. We know there must be someone who loves this breed, loves to cuddle and wants a loving companion. He’s a really sweet, loving, happy boy who just wants a bed, couch or comfy floor to lounge around!
