Garth is a delightful 5 month old mixed breed pup, weighing in at 30 pounds. While his exact lineage is a mystery, we suspect he’s part cattle dog, corgi, shepherd, and a touch of husky! Despite a challenging start in life spent in a cage in an animal hoarder’s home, Garth has truly blossomed in his foster home. He’s great with dogs of all sizes and loves playing with his chihuahua friends. He would thrive in a home with another confident dog and a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content.

While he may be a bit shy around new people initially, given some time and space, he transforms into the biggest lover you’ll ever meet. He warmed up quickly to the small children and teenagers in his foster home. Once he knows he can trust you, he’s a big cuddler who will melt your heart. He absolutely loves cuddling and napping next to you on the couch.

This goofy boy loves nothing more than playing and running, making him the perfect companion for an active family. While he’s not interested in cats, he does have a tendency to chase chickens, so a chicken-free environment is a must.

Garth is crate trained and actually loves spending time in his crate. It is his safe space where he eats all his meals, sleeps through the night and lounges when he needs a little down time. While still young and a bit shy and submissive, Garth is making strides every day with commands, leash walking and going potty outside.
