Dually was rescued along with her friends Trucker and Hitch from a less than ideal situation, living outside chained to her doghouse. In her two weeks in her foster home we have discovered a sweet, gentle, affectionate girl who just wants to be with her people and get love and belly rubs. She is incredible in her crate, going in with no objection and sleeping through the night. We have not left her loose without supervision but she’s given no indication that she would be destructive. She has gotten the hang of going potty outside and does not have accidents when we follow her cues and keep her on a routine. We are working on kennel up, sit, wait, and down and she’s catching on quickly as long as there are treats involved! She has loved everyone she has met, and seems unfazed by other dogs. Dually is really coming out of her shell and is learning that having a home and family is the best! Treats, toys, playing, and walks are all new to her, but she’s enjoying the experience, we’ve even seen a few zoomies in the last few days! While a fenced yard would be great, Dually seems fine with being on leash, as long as she can sniff to her heart’s content. She’s done well on a long line with supervision, but she never wanders far from her people. She would be happy as an only dog, or with a buddy.
