Matilda is a great dane who was found dumped in the country. She was skin and bones, with severe skin infection & hair loss, and many other health issues. She also has a birth defect that causes severe incontinence. She has come such a long way and is doing amazing, however; the incontinence is a continued problem for her. A specialist at MIZZOU did a Cytoscopy, they found her anatomy developed abnormally which was causing urine to leak all the time. The only option for Matilida is to have a hydraulic urethral occluder ring surgically placed around the urethra. This inflatable silicone ring is an effective long-term treatment that should provide Matilda with the ability to control her urine output. Along with this surgery she is also having a very invasive spay surgery. Because of her anatomy abnormalities, this is not a straight forward surgery and must be done by a specialist. The estimated cost for both of these surgeries is $7,500! Matilda is scheduled on January 31 and we really need donations to help offset the costs for these procedures. This if the final step in her healing and we will do what we can to give her a healthy and happy life. Anything you can give will be very much appreciated.
